Scotland's Castle Trail
With over 300 castles, stately homes and ruins set against a stunning backdrop Aberdeenshire is unsurprisingly known as 'Scotland's Castle Country'. Why not visit the castle that inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula, Slains Castle or the famous Dunottar Castle which starred in Zeffirelli's movie version of Hamlet starring Mel Gibson.
Stone Circles, Standing Stones & Ancient Settlements
Unearth the Shire through the ages and discover perfectly preserved cairns, pictish symbol stones, hill forts, settlements and souterrains (underground chambers). Aberdeenshire boasts the largest collection of recumbent stone circles in the world, with some of the stones weighing up to an incredible 50 tons.
The Malt Whisky Trail
Playing host to over half the distilleries in Scotland, Speyside has the greatest concentration of malt whisky producers compared to every other whisky producing region. Find out more about your favourite Speyside malts, or let us showcase some you may not have tried yet. In the heart of the Trail lies the Speyside Cooperage, the only working cooperage in the UK where you can experience the ancient art of cask making.
